A perspective on applied geochemistry in porous media: Reactive transport modeling of geochemical dynamics and the interplay with flow phenomena and physical alteration

In many practical geochemical systems that are at the center of providing indispensable energy, resources and service to our society, (bio)geochemical reactions coupled with other physical processes, such as multiphase flow, fracturing deformation. Predictive understanding these processes in hosting evolving porous media is key design reliable sustainable practices. this article, we provide a brief review recent developments applications reactive transport modeling study geochemically driven alteration media. We also perspective on opportunities challenges for continuously developing expanding role valuable methodology advance fundamental transferable knowledge various dynamic systems.
